The new Nike Chase commercial was revealed earlier this week by Nike Japan. The animation illustrates Nike’s female superhero protecting Tokyo from giant robots smashing buildings and causing a rampage through the city. While fighting these forces of evil our heroine is of course wearing cool Nike hi-tops. The campaign was created for Nike women by Nike Sister One in collaboration with London’s ilovedust and San Francisco’s AKQA. Check out the video.
I can’t believe the first Nike Air Max 95 was released fifteen years ago as they have been a favorite of mine ever since. In that time we have seen many different updates and to kick off 2010 and the new decade, Nike decided to remix the trainer with a bit of snake skin. I know you’re either thinking right now that it is either kind of gross or pretty cool, but snake skin is nothing new to Nike and has been seen in the past. Taking a closer look, the grey tones of snake skin pattern act as a gradient between the top portion of the trainer which is black and the white sole. I think it is the best looking one next to the original release which was the popular grey with neon highlights. The Air Max 95’s could be compared to a polo shirt or a desert boot. A classic and timeless design that will continue to be admired decades from now.
