When it comes to beachwear it’s not all about the surf with California label Warrior’s of Radness.
Warriors of Radness is all about Southern California surf culture when it comes to their clothing. The Los Angeles based label is known for their use of bright colours and playful but more refined concepts. One of our favorites from the spring/summer 2010 collection is the Windjammer Pullover Jacket. It reminds me of the old Helly Hanson pullovers all the cool kids use to wear back in the day. Truly radical dude.

This is the first year I was not overly impressed with the Steven Alan spring collection except maybe some of the Engineered Garments collaborations. This Popover Workshirt was one of the few pieces that caught my attention and was possibly the most interesting. Unlike most regular button up shirts this blue chambray long sleeve has only a three quarter length placket down the front making it more like a pullover. Un-tucked this shirt would look pretty cool on anyone.

The new Gitman Vintage collection has an oxford shirt for every man. This season the design group of Chris Olberding decided to bring back their favorite fabrics from the 1984 Gitman archives. Even though the line is interpreted for spring/summer 2010, they also reconnect us with several retrospective details which include original double-track stitching, chalk buttons, locker-loops, box-pleats and reissued the original “Gitman Bros. Est 1978″ label. In this collection you will find basic washed solid and striped oxfords along with a range of colourful chambrays. To make it even more difficult for us to decide, they also designed shirts with cotton madras, antique seersucker, bright cabana stripes, short sleeve formal in double-washed denim and some interesting patch work madras. Told you there is a shirt or maybe even two for every man.

Decided you’ll be lying by the pool or spending the days on the beach all summer long? Instead of the basic board shorts everyone normally wears why not sport a little class wearing Ralph Lauren Hawaiian Swim Shorts while catching some rays. I like the fact that these thigh length shorts include two side pockets, an inside coin pocket, a rear Velcro fastening pocket and a drawstring waist. With these shorts people will only envy your life of leisure.

Last year I started using a very old duffle bag I found stashed away in the basement. Unfortunately it was so worn out that it only last seven months but it had a good run and made me realize how much I loved using a duffle bag. So I have been on the lookout for a new duffle bag and Maine based fashion label Rogues Gallery has designed a couple really nice nautical styles for this spring. The bag is made from rugged nautical grade canvas with cotton webbing handles and brass links and clips. This durable classic duffle bag is exactly what I am looking for. Smaller versions of the bag can also be found here.

The beautifully crafted Red Wing Leather and Canvas boots have been making headlines the past couple of weeks. These copper brown mid cut boots are made with wabasha leather and a quarter olive canvas panels. Added to the classic aesthetics are raw hide laces, brass eyelets and Virbram rubber sole meant to last a lifetime. The boots also come in a dark brown but instead of five eyelets as shown above they are extended a bit higher with seven eyelets. The Red Wing boots are starting to sell out already as people are finding them to be a perfect boot for the spring.

Are you sick of expensive designer shades that end up being scratched, broken or lost? There is no longer any need for that as KBL Eyewear is here to give us what we want. The New York based label has been making waves since launching only six months ago. The shades are revamped Italian designs taken from the 60’s and 70’s and given some edge for our current generation. The collection includes a flashy pair that we love, called the ‘West Side Bernie’. Check out the rest of the colours after the jump.
