If you have not heard the news by now, L.L. Bean launched their ‘Signature‘ collection earlier this week. The new line for men and women focuses on the companies 100 years of heritage but updating style and fit for today’s world. I think it was great decision selecting and luring Alex Carleton (Rogues Gallery) back to the L.L. Bean to become creative director of the ‘Signature’ collection.
Looking through the collection of men’s classics the outerwear immediately drew my attention. The ‘Featherweight Hunting Jacket’ and the ‘Canvas Jacket’ are two of my favorites as both are made for comfort but also share timeless qualities. In addition, you’ll find that the entire collection is surprisingly affordable, unlike many other heritage brands.
A first look into Burkman Bros. fall/winter 2010 Himalayan High collection. To showcase what’s in store for the upcoming season they have created a cool animated video lookbook. The casual line is inspired by the Canadian designers travels around the world and the many backpackers they encounter. Burkman Bros. was also chosen by GQ as 2010 Best New Designer in America finalists. You can see GQ’s behind the scenes interview here.
Comfort and style is what we all want in men’s clothing and J Crew is well-known for catering to all our needs. A prime example of this would be the brand new Sun-Faded Stanton shorts which provides ultimate comfort. These shorts have been washed for over 300 minutes making them feel like your favorite shorts that you have had forever and love wearing. The dyed material was also treated to give them a vintage look. Careful when trying these on as you might find yourself buying more than one.
The baseball season is about to kick off and Los Angeles based label, Shades of Greige is already excited for the 2010 post season with their Fall Classic Jacket. It is one of the nicer baseball style jackets this spring and my favorite from their current collection. Alternatively if you are not a fan of the baseball classic, Shades of Greige has also designed more refined linen herringbone which can be seen after the jump.

Looking for a pair of jeans to protect you from flying bullets? Today is your lucky day as Naked & Famous have produced an interesting pair of jeans. Ok it’s not actually bulletproof but the denim contains 20% Kevlar which is a common component in body armor. Now Naked & Famous design some of the best jeans on the market but I am still trying to rationalize this concept. I guess if you are looking for a tremendously strong pair of jeans, these are for you.
