Kolor

kolor_herringbone

Herringbone is always a crowd favorite with men and women fashion.  It’s definitely always been one of ours.  We often find this fabric is often used for suiting or outerwear.  Today we came across an intriguing herringbone blazer designed by Japanese label ‘Kolor’.  The clever details of the crushed leather buttons down the front and on the cuffs stand out against the brown twill fabric making this blazer a true classic and desirable in our eyes.

Steven Alan Down Vest

StevenAlan_FlannelVest

Plaid patterns excite me especially if used as a contrast or highlight.   Keeping up with our flannel trends Steven Alan’s vest is probably one of the best looking I’ve seen.  The teal plaid flannel lining works perfectly with the dusty blue outer material.  Another positive is that this goose down vest doesn’t look too puffy or bulky as maybe a North Face or Columbia one.  Weather out for a walk around the park or in the city, this Canadian made vest by Steven Alan will keep anyone  warm during the fall or winter months.

In Stereo

krusada

At labellife there is always music playing on the stereo.  We like a good range of music so it is important that playlist is always full.  So in support of good music our friend Trom aka Krusada put this ‘Non-Essential Mix’ together for notamixtape.com.  The eclectic mix travels all over the spectrum taking us through two and a half hours of amazing tunes.  Check it out.

Brixton ‘Strike’

brixton_strike

Over the past few fall/winter seasons I have been on the lookout for a flannel jacket.   There are a good number of  lumberjack styles out there, but I want something a little different.  Last week Brixton released their winter collection and the ‘Strike‘  jacket caught my eye.  The green flannel is a similar to a bomber style jacket and has a built in hood, which is what I really like about it.  It may not be for the dead of winter but definitely for the cool crisp air of fall.

Raw Quality

nakedandfamous

Far from few brands can say they use the best denim in the world and sell it for an affordable price.  Recently it has come to our attention that Naked and Famous are able to do just that. The clever Canadians only import the most unique selvedge fabrics from Japan which are then cut (in Canada) as simple but stylish modern fit jeans for both men and women.  This is one company we are excited to see more of in the next few years.

Personal Taste

personal_taste1Being my first post this would probably be a good time to introduce myself. My name is Jt. and like anyone else I tend to enjoy many things in life.  Labellife is an outlet for me to share my excitement for fashion, music, design, people and sometimes food.  Enough about me and lets get to the good stuff.

There are many things in this world we appreciate as individuals.  In this post I won’t get into specific labels.  However, these are what I consider to be some of my favorites and basics in my life.  The oxford, a classic shirt with clean lines and considered timeless.  Strong durable denim that will withstand the numerous wears and washes is important.  Of the many shoes it is always essential to have a pair of simple white tennis shoes.  To top it off accessories balance it all out starting with sunglasses and possibly a duffle bag for trips to the gym or weekends away from home.  The last two in my world go hand in hand.  Monocle magazine is always a good read reporting on international affairs and trends along with some buttered popcorn.  Just be careful turning the pages with greasy fingers.
