You already know our obsession with skulls from our previous post, but we like the addition of snowflakes into the mix. RL Rugby recently included to their collection the wool knit beanie with skulls and snowflakes. Topped with a playful pom pom it is also lined around the brim with fleece to keep your head warm during the cold winter months.

Exciting news is always a good way to start off a weekend. Since his last album, ‘The Third Hand’ in 2007, RJD2 has been working overtime. Over the last two years, the Columbus, Ohio native has been touring non-stop and also took a leap of faith by starting his own record label ‘RJ’s Electrical Connections’ which will be distributed by The Orchard and outside of the states by K7! .
Jumping right into things the initial release (out now) sees the first ever three CD digital release of b-sides and rarities previously on Bustown Pride: Your Face Or Your Kneecaps, In Rare Form, and Things Go Better Instrumentals. As a bonus, Your Face Or Your Kneecaps also features two brand-new, previously unreleased tracks. Not stopping there a 10 year commemoration box set, RJD2 2002-2010, was released last month. To top it all off with the most exciting news is the completion of the newest album, ’The Colossus’ which will be released early 2010. We will be ready waiting for this one.

ALIFE is king when it comes to street wear. Earlier this month the New York super label released their holiday line which includes the new Chuck Shepard footwear. A timeless shoe that takes on similar elements as the chukka boot or even the classic desert boot. What makes the Chuck Shepard’s is clean lines made up by the combination of the smooth soft leather and extended white rubber sole. I must say they have character and better yet they also come in brown and black which you can see after the jump.

The past two years I have split my time between Toronto and Sydney. As it gets colder in the northern hemisphere the southern always heats up and there is no better place to be than the beaches of Australia. Beachwear is obviously an important part of the culture and lifestyle here so I have been in search for cool new board shorts. Rip Curl this year has designed the ‘Pixelate‘ series which features STL Technology. Stitches in the fabric normally cause rashes so they have been replaced with liquid tape seams which are also found in their wetsuits. Rip Curl also incorporated into the ‘Pixelate’ a light weight fast drying material to make for a better surfing experience. In my case a more comfortable splash in the ocean and sunbathing experience.

No matter what look you are going for, skulls automatically make us look cool and they are everywhere in the ‘Rugby Ralph Lauren’ fall/winter collection. Well maybe not on everything but we like that the preppy/rugby apparel has been given a little more edge to its look. Our favorites are the sweater and scarf, however skulls can also be found on their polo long sleve shirts, socks, ties and belts.
