Someone once told me that shoes are like rims on a car and they define your overall character. The Sperry Top Sider chukkas for Band of Outsiders have been out for some time now and I really like the design of them. The collaboration geniuses did an amazing job blending in the boat shoe look with the chukka boot. I think the color combination of the cracked champagne suede, white stitches and red/yellow laces is what does it for me. Striped cotton lining finishes off the interior of the boots making them absolutely flawless. They are also reasonably priced which is surprising for Band of Outsiders apparel but of course keeps people like us happy.

In the last few years there have been numerous collaborations in the fashion world. Not many do well but we enjoy when two companies team up and sprisingly exceed all our expectations. This fall J.Crew called upon Montreal based company ‘Want Les Essentiels de la Vie’ to design a few exclusive leather pieces. We love the luxury laptop cases which are crafted with 100 percent organic Turkish cotton and sustainably produced Norway leather. They also come in different sizes to fit your 13”, 15” or 17” laptop. For more from ‘Want Organic’ for J.Crew the collection includes a ‘Newberry IPod case’ and a ‘72-hour Da Vinci travel bag’. Hopefully we’ll see more collaboration between these two in the future. More photos after the jump.

Alright it’s about that time to start looking for a new winter coat and there are so many options out there. Toggles are back in action this year and the company from Maine, Rogues Gallery, has come out with the ‘Country Toggle Coat’. The form fitting hooded coat comes in heather grey with black toggles which I probably wouldn’t use as I like the look of them to each side of the zipper. Of course the grey to red flannel lining is what makes us love this even more. At $400 the price may not fit my budget this year but the ‘Country Toggle Coat’ is still worth considering.

Montreal based company, Naked and Famous, produce some of our favorite jeans like the ‘Slimguy Cashmere Denim’. The imported Japanese denim is made with 84% cotton, 8% cotton, and 8% rayon. It’s everything you want in a pair of jeans, comfortable stylish denim that will last a lifetime. Unlike other brands who sell premium denim for ridiculous prices, these are also affordable. The concept of Naked and Famous denim is like no other and the cashmere denim jeans will definitely be at the top of my Christmas list this year.

Growing up I had a sweater that looked exactly like this one, by Chloe Sevigny for ‘Opening Ceremony’. Seeing it instantly brought back memories of my youthful winter’s especially over the holidays. The cozy warm sweater was definitely one of my favorites as it was worn most of the time in the snow with friends or out to Christmas family dinner parties. For some reason right now I feel like sitting in front of a fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate.

Growing up I spent a lot of time looking and wanting the newest snowboard. Each year, designs kept getting cooler and board performance was always improving for riders. It’s been a while since I last looked at new snowboards and it’s no surprise that Burton is still at the top of the game especially with the 2010 Burton Method.
Burton’s R&D were given no limitations and held nothing back when designing the 2010 Method. The results include new aluma superfly core, S2 carbon vapourskin lite, and methlon N20 WFO vision base. In addition the board has new slim rail sidewalls, and titanium alloy pressure distribution edges.
What does all this new technology mean? Burton created not only the best looking pro-tip board of the year but the lightest performing board for the slopes. Oh yea and did we mention the $1500 price tag? Yikes!
